Home Paint Brushes

While painting a room, it’s require to know how to use a paint brush for getting desired result. It’s easy to learn

There is a process to proper paint brush usage. It involves these steps:

1. Brush Loading;
2. Paint Application and Paint Distribution;
3. Paint Smoothing.

Here are some quick tips…

Step 1: Loading the Paint Brush

There is a right way to load paint onto the brush. You can either use paint from the paint can or pour some paint into a painting pail.

You need to carry paint with you as you paint using a brush are with these two products:
* Paint Can Handle
* Paint Pail.

* You need to dip the brush directly into the paint up to 1/3 of the length of the bristles. This stops the brush from being overloaded with paint and prevents dripping.

* Tap both sides of the brush lightly against the side of the can or pail.

* Do not scrape the paint off the brush by dragging across the edge of the bucket. That removes the paint and makes the brush ineffective.

Step 2: Applying and Distributing Paint on the Wall

* Basically you will use a roller for large flat wall areas and a paint brush for “cutting in.” Cutting in is a term used to describe painting the corners at walls and ceilings and around baseboards and door/window trim.

* If you are right handed, cut in the wall at the ceiling corners from left to right. If left handed, paint right to left. This will give you visual control over how well the paint is flowing.

* Press the brush against the wall just enough to flex the bristles. Use the narrow edge of the paint brush when cutting in.

* If painting a larger wall area you will use a different technique in applying and distributing the paint.

* Holding the paint brush at about a 45 degree angle, paint the area using several diagonal strokes. Again, press the brush against the wall just enough to flex the bristles.

* Now distribute the paint on the large flat area with horizontal strokes.

Step 3: Smoothing Out the Paint

Once the paint is applied and distributed on the wall or ceiling surface, the next step is to smooth it out. At the end of each stroke, lift the paint brush from the surface.

Once job is done, wash the paint brush properly. After drying, take plastic wrap and tightly wrap the brush bristles. You should be careful not to misshapen the bristles when wrapping.
