It is recommended that you should remove your wallpaper before starting the painting job. But there are some cases where painting over wallpaper may be beneficial for you.

7.  It will help smooth out the surface so that the texture won’t show through the paint.
8.  Gently sand down the seams of the wallpaper so they are not as noticeable.
9.  Before painting apply a coat of oil-based primer to the entire surface of the walls.
10. This helps seal the adhesive in the paper away from the moisture in the paint.
