Vinyl Floor
A winter guard program can not be completed without a floor. The main purpose is to protect the gym floor from color guard equipment. It protect members’ bodies & feet from dust & other things on the floor. It can be difficult for the paint to adhere.
Some Effective Tips Are Mentioned Below..
1. First you have to determine what kind of floor you have. It may be vinyl or polyethylene. Then purchase your paint & other supplies.
2. You need to secure a well-ventilated area. You can turn on the overhead vent fans and bring in freestanding fans to diffuse the fumes.
3. Use a clean broom to sweep the floor.
4. Use a solution of dish soap and water to wash floor. You can use rags if the floor is new & not dirty.
5. You can use a mop if it’s an old floor that needs a complete overhaul.
6. Now rinse all the soap off with plain water. No need to soak the floor while rinsing or washing it.
7. Dry properly. Wipe up any excess water with dry rags.
8. Before painting you need to give at least 24 hours to dry after cleaning it.
9. To protect the real floor underneath it from paint spillage lay down paper under the edges of the winter guard floor.
10. Now paint the floor.
11. If you need a design onto the floor, before painting sketch it out by chalk.
12. Let it dry properly properly in a well-ventilated area. At least for 48 hrs.
