Here are some quick tips that will help you to complete your Parchment Faux Painting job quickly.

1. First cover/taping off all furnitures, molding, doors, windows, trim whatever needs to be taped off.

2. Start with white color. Apply white color as a base coat.

3. Give 22-24 hours to dry properly. Base coat should dry perfectly.

4. Once base coat has dried, you can begin the glazing part of the finish.

5. Mix glaze by combining the two colors with the untinted glaze in two different containers.

6. One mixture should be a nice workable colored glaze & an another one part is glaze. Keep separately.

7. Now you are ready to apply the glaze.

8. You need two brushes for parchment faux finish.

9. Work in one small area at a time.

10. Make two squiggly lines about 5-7 inches apart of each other to apply the glaze.

11. Take the cheese cloth for rubbing. It can vary in direction. If the cloth becomes sticky, rinse it in warm water.

12. A good variety of light and dark spots should be there. A good combination.

13. Once you have done a wall do not remove the tape before the glaze completely dries.

14. Move on to the next wall.

Once you have finished you will see the old parchment faux finish will take an older look.

We often refer colors as warm or cool. Red, orange and yellow are warm like fire. Blue and green are cool. The combination of cool and warm color known as Neutral color such as beige, ivory, taupe, black, gray, and white appear to be without color. Selecting the right color temperature for your room is required because it helps us to set the mood and can affect our perceptions.

A hue can be mixed with any lightened combination or darkened combination in an infinite number of ways. Main objective is to find balance between these four ideas and achieving a look you desire.
